At ABQ opportunities are provided for student representatives to work with staff in a number of areas through the Student Council. Regular meetings are held, and the students assist in planning functions, presenting student concerns and views, and contributing to improvements where possible. A particular activity which generates a lot of interest is planning the schools participation in the Model United Nations simulation, hosted in Qatar annually.

A student council for 2010/11 academic year has been formed by nominations and subsequent voting by the student body.
