Warm congratulations are due to ABQ students, parents and staff who all contributed to this year’s excellent examination results at IGCSE and GCE Advanced level.
At GCE Advanced level, a whopping 77.5% of ABQ students gained passes at grades A*-C. The equivalent UK national average was 75.4%. Ahmed Ali Al Lawati, pictured above, will receive an Outstanding Achievement Award from Edexcel London Examinations for his performance in these examinations. Very well done Ahmed. A further two students deserve special commendation for their achievement at GCE Advanced level; Ghaida Saleh Al Farsi, who gained 2 ‘A’ grade and 2 ‘B’ grade passes and Ahsen Mubarik Ali who gained 1 ‘A’ grade and 2 ‘B’ grade passes. Congratulations to both of them.
The IGCSE results of the Grade 10 students were superb and their parents should be proud of them. ABQ students produced a 75.5% pass rate at Grades A-C, easily beating the UK national average of 69.1%. 17.7% of these passes were at A* grade compared to 7.5% in the UK, and the Mathematics result, where 50% of the students obtained an A* or A grade was simply wonderful. Khalid Yaseen Ali and Hadeel Talib Al Hosni (pictured above), who both achieved 6 ‘A*’ or ‘A’ grade passes, will receive Outstanding Achievement Awards from Edexcel for their excellent performance at this level. In addition, another seven students, who gained 5 ‘A*’ or ‘A’ grade passes; Hamed Salim Al Busaidi, Jaafar Ali FidaHussain, Lujaina Ali Al Shidhani, Maitham Mohamed Al Bulushi, Muntasir Mohsin Al Namani, Reem Salman Al Araimi and Yara Imad Al Shighri, narrowly missed this award. Superb results indeed. We look forward to congratulating you for a similar achievement at AS level in Grade 11. |
